It took 7 years for certified pharmacist turned content specialist Priyanka to realize her true passion. Read on to know more about her.
Tell us about your life journey in brief?
A post graduate pharmacist, PhD drop and a content writer + content marketer. That’s my life journey. A constant learner, a writer getting better in her writing each day and a hustler.
What prompted you to take up content creation/blogging?
It took me 7 years to realize that my passion was not pharmacy, drugs or the organic molecules, rather helping startups and brands improve their visibility online.
After completing post-graduation, I was unemployed and joined PhD that I thoroughly hated but got a decent scholarship. As a hobby I started writing content for a couple of firms in 2014 and gradually after learning the intricacies of this field I’m here today.
What type of content do you create and why?
My mastery lies in creating factual and actionable content backed by statistics and supported by opinions of the industry thought leaders.
What are your tips on marketing the content?
Spend 20% time writing an article and 80% in promoting content to your target audience. No matter how great you write, it has to be promoted. Divide the promotion into organic (guest posting) and paid (content syndication) and earned (by reaching out to influencers and reporters).
What is your dream/vision?
Reaching out to the international audience is a dream that I’m currently working for.
What difficulties you face as a content creator?
Like every other content creator I sometimes face “Writer’s Block” wherein I’m unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with the writing. Unplugging for a few days helps 🙂
What inspires you to keep going?
For me, the best example is my parents. At an age where they are totally allowed to live a retired life, they work for more than 9 hours each day.
Working in the startup industry, I interact with entrepreneurs day and night. Their passion, hard work and ability to rise from failure inspires me to become the best version of me.
Any fun/memorable incident in this journey so far?
Those emails that I receive after a guest post wherein people praise your work and how the write-up helps them satisfies me. No money can buy the happiness that you gain from helping others 🙂
What advice you’d like to give to someone who is interested/newbie in content creation/ marketing?
Get to know the industry you’re writing in thoroughly. Do not write overviews, go in-depth into the subject. Stand out and create masterpieces, else you’ll be one among the million.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Share your knowledge. That’s the best way to become a thought leader in any industry.
