Habib Kinkhabwala who wanted to become a web designer but then after watching many South Indian movies and Hollywood movies his passion change to filmmaking. Read on to know more about him.
Tell us about your life journey in brief?
Well, I must say my life is not easy. I have gone through many rough patches to accomplish my dream. It became more difficult for me to create this short film as my mom and dad were all against about this field. The duration of the film is about 2 hours and it could have only be completed because of my friends naming Kunal Bhansali, Dharmin Kansara, Rakesh Ojha and Jaimin Patel.
What prompted you to become a filmmaker?
At first, I wanted to become a web designer but then after watching many South Indian movies and Hollywood movies my passion change to filmmaking. I was strongly influenced by my sir Chandradhar Putta, His guidance helped me a lot to progress in this field.
Tell us about your team, if you have?
No, I don’t have any team but yes I make short films and do skits with the help of my few friends.
How many/ What kind of movies you have made?
I have directed a skit in school after that I have made a short film on charity after completing 12th. I am going to direct a new short film which is a mystery and suspense film.
What is your dream/ vision?
My dream is to become a successful director and achieve fame like Kadar Khan, Farhan Akhtar etc.
What difficulties you face as an independent filmmaker?
Well difficulties that I had faced as an independent filmmaker is that my mom and dad are against this field but as you know it is my passion and i am going to fulfil my dream and passion any how or by whatever means.
What inspires you or keeps you going?
My mentor Chandradhar Putta and my friends, they inspire me a lot because without them I can’t imagine to even think of joining this field. Proper guidance and motivation by my sir and my friends is what all i need.
Any fun/ memorable incident?
The most favourite part of short film is the time I had spend with my friends during making. I had only 2 hours which was not enough for a 7 minute script but still we had a lot of fun. Also, while taking a shot one of my friends Jaimin got injured, so the script which earlier included 5 character has to be changed to 4.
What advice you’d like to give to someone who is interested/newbie in filmmaking?
My advice to a new filmmaker is that you will face many problem but with proper guidance and experience you can achieve your goal.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Well the only thing i would like to share is that many people have watched the video even my relatives also but they ask me only 1 thing that why i have not deleted or edited the mistakes done in the film, “I told them that it will help me to remember to not repeat it again in the near future”.
